Kindness Matters

Kindness Matters is a student-led action team that empowers children to make a positive difference in our school community. Students are invited to join by sharing why they would like to be involved and what changes they hope to see within the school. Together, they identify issues that matter to them and work collaboratively to find thoughtful, inclusive solutions.

The Kindness Matters team supports students to feel connected, safe, and valued. Whether it’s helping someone who feels lonely in the playground, offering support to a peer who needs a friend, or creating opportunities for students to feel a sense of belonging, the team is always ready to help. Students lead initiatives such as fun engagement days (including Dancing for Kindness), kindness reward programs that celebrate acts of kindness across the school, and fundraising projects to support student wellbeing.

One of the team’s proudest achievements is the creation of the Kindness Cart. Students raised funds to develop a mobile cart filled with fun games and activities that are available during break times. The Kindness Cart encourages inclusive play, helps students build friendships, and provides positive, engaging options for students who may need extra support in the yard.

Through Kindness Matters, students develop leadership, empathy, and problem-solving skills while working together to create an inclusive, respectful, and caring environment for everyone. Most importantly, students are encouraged to share their own ideas and take meaningful action to help our school community thrive.
